Please note that CGESD is currently in negotiations for the 2023-25 Collective Bargaining Agreement. This is expected to increase pay scales slightly, but the exact amount is not yet know. The wages posted are based on the 2022-23 salary schedule.

Job Purpose Statement:

 

To provide instructional assistance and support to pre-school children with disabilities in self-contained Early Childhood Special Education classrooms, fully integrated classrooms or other settings as specified in Individual Family Service Plans.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Assists in implementation of Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP), any and all aspects, as outlined by the classroom teacher, EI/ECSE Program Manager and Superintendent. This includes assisting children with personal care needs and following any medical or feeding protocols.
  2. Assists with field trips and assemblies.
  3. Assists in the maintenance of an attractive and clean learning environment.
  4. Assists in data keeping as prescribed by classroom teacher, Program Manager and/or Superintendent.
  5. Assists in preparation of teaching aids and/or materials.
  6. Assists in implementing behavioral programs under direction of classroom teacher, EI/ECSE Program Manager and/or Superintendent.
  7. Maintains strict confidentiality. Does not relate any information to parents or other personnel outside the school environment. Refers all inquiries to classroom teacher, EI/ECSE Program Manager and/or Superintendent.
  8. Meets frequently with classroom teacher, EI/ECSE Program Manager, pre-school consultant and/or service coordinator for purposes of planning or evaluation of instruction.
  9. Attends all required meetings called by the classroom teacher, EI/ECSE Program Manager, or Superintendent.
  10. Functions as an integral member of the building staff and is responsible to classroom teacher, EI/ECSE Program Manager, and/or Superintendent.
  11. Must establish and maintain a positive working relationship with ESD and district personnel.
