Job Purpose Statement:
The Substitute Preschool Teacher provides a nurturing, safe, and educational environment for young children in the absence of the regular classroom teacher on an as needed basis. This role involves implementing pre-planned lessons, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, and ensuring the continuity of care and learning for preschool students. The Substitute Preschool Teacher is responsible for managing classroom activities, addressing the individual needs of students, and maintaining effective communication with other staff members to support the overall well-being and development of the children.
Job Qualifications: Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent;
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
- Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability
- Successfully pass district background screening

Essential Job Functions:
- Assists in the maintenance of an attractive and clean learning environment.
- Assists in preparation of teaching aids and/or materials.
- Maintains strict confidentiality. Does not relate any information to parents or other personnel outside the school environment. Refers all inquiries to classroom teacher or administrator.
- Must establish and maintain a positive working relationship with ESD and district personnel.
